As someone who has entirely unstitched three pairs of jeans, I couldn't agree more on the seam ripper. I don't *have* a good seam ripper, I've just been torturing myself 😅

I'm a gal that recently discovered your channel and can't wait to try your tips and tricks on some t-shirts I have--I hate the boxy cut of most t-shirts you find in the store, they're not flattering on anyone (unless you're Sponge Bob!). Your vidoes are fun and informative, I'm excited to try what I've learned in them and "remodel" my wardrobe!

I'm a bit confused about this new format. It's a channel about tailoring clothes but does not show you any tutorials. Too much talk, no action!

Interesting dude, I didn’t know this. It does make total sense. I started tailoring my first shirt by following your instructions and it took me over two hours just to get the pins in correctly. When you say it takes 20 minutes, that’s for someone with experience like yourself. Not a complete newbie like me. The first time I put the pins in I didn’t put them back through the fabrics so when I stood up half of them just fell on the ground. It took me 10 times replacing the pins before I got the fit correct and even now I’d like to adjust it. My friend told me that it’s easier just to make something from scratch. Idk. Anyways cool video

I’m not a big guy and I had to deal with this issue my whole life then I was paying to have my clothes tailored which got very expensive plus I would have to wait for weeks to have it done then I started wat I your channel bought a sewing machine and started sewing at first not so good but now I fit my tee shirts dress shirts and jeans so much better and to think how terrible it was in the past, I still have some issues with the stitches and don’t really know how to fix them but I keep trying, but all in all thank you so much you really helped me feel more confident in my look, keep on bringing it 👍 !!!

So I found your channel within the last week, I got a used Singer this weekend. Getting a sheet for practice soon...

I have a 900 page book on pattern making, It Blows my Mind!...with what you can do with darts, adding fullness and contouring. Not a lot in Life, Blows my Mind!

I got a beautiful workhorse Brother singer 15 clone from 1950 for just $12 at Goodwill. Other than my beloved Husqvarna from the 70s (6570 model in red), it is my favorite machine!

Great content, your production quality has dramatically improved. There’s a bunch of handheld sewing machines on the market, can you make a video of what is realistically possible with those tiny machines. I don’t think I believe the manufacturers claims haha

Question, Do you use darts AND take in the sides??? (Ive lost a lot of weight but cant afford to replace all my dress shirts, this could be a game changer for me)

Does the top thread or the bobbin thread have to match the shirt color? I saw the top stitch was white but doesn't show on the right side of the tee, lol I'm confused

Wouldn't the bobbin thread need to match the garment you are sewing, if the item being sewn is turned inside out? This part confuses me, or are you supposed to 😅sew on the right side of the fabric when hemming? Thanks

These days, both men's and women's clothing, off the rack, is designed for over weight (fat) people. It is, especially, noticeable in women's clothing. What was labeled as a size 14, in the early 70's is now labeled as a size 10, maybe 8, by now. I haven't checked in a while. Back then, Twiggy was a size 2. Today she would wear a size 10. Oy Vey! 😁✌🖖

OK, so I finally put my new Brother to use after plenty of practice on scrap material. The first side of the T-shirt went OK (other than taking off too much in the waist on both sides), but the second side was puckered in the back, although it was pinned and I thought it was straight. Easily done with such thin material. To help prevent this, do you iron and starch first? If so, I will definitely need to plan a few days to clear off my ironing board lol.

There's something magnanimous about Guys getting behind a sewing machine. It's... I forgotten my original word but it Cool as F#@€!

Oh man, let me tell you that I'm totally into tailoring clothes for my kids. But I never had the courage to tailor my badly fitting shirts. But your video makes it look so easy. I guess I'll give it a try! Thank you so very much. And thank you too for giving other guys (like me) the courage to tell others that they love tailoring. That is not yet a matter of course these days.

Been sewing for 40 years & I swear by a Brother or Kenmore machine. Have fun with sewing, it'll save you tens of thousands!

I got a Kenmore at a thrift store for $40… It was practically brand new, whoever owned it never used it… Had the owners manual, box with all the attachments all original… I bet you they didn’t use this thing over five times

I have a 50+ year old Sears free-arm straight stretch machine! It doesn't like thick materials but it mends.

I just went ahead and got the exact one you use man. I trust you and that brother sewing machine has been an amazing upgrade from my 1970’s brother lol. Thrift stores are great for a durable beginner machine. That older one is cast iron and got way too heavy. It’s great to see you back stylish dad!

I been having this issue off and on for year with one my new machines. My other one is kenmore you can easily tell if threads come loose. Thank you man. Now I know when doubt go back basic re-thread the machine lol

Hey Stylish D, what cost machine do you recommend? I notice the Brother ST371hd is about £270. Is a £470 machine not necessary to spend, a £270 is value enough.
